| Stone Bridge Farm Closing |
Dan and I have had a terrific time over the past 13 years breeding, training, and selling Rocky Mountain Horses. However, we have decided it's time to stop. Our children are growing and becoming more and more involved in activities that require our time and attention. In addition, we want to be able to spend more time camping and riding with our family. Caring for a farm full of animals is rewarding, but very time consuming.
We have a few more horses offered for sale. See the "Horses for Sale" page for details.
We've enjoyed meeting a wide variety of people over the last 13 years and will treasure all the friends we have made.

1st Rocky
Mountain Foal Born in the Southern Hemisphere! |
|
On October 9, 2008, Illusire Glowing Star
(affectionately known as Lucy) gave birth to the first Rocky Mountain foal
to be born in the Southern Hemisphere. Stone Bridge Farm sent Lucy to
her new home in New South Wales, Australia in March 2008. Prior to her
departure, she had been bred to Venture's Black Fury, a black stallion owned
by eMDee Mountain Horses in Shumway, Illinois. The beautiful,
chocolate colt has been named Fury's Southern Star. |

Gunsmoke Joins
Lucy & Rosebud
in Australia |
|
3 year-old, blue roan stallion, MMR's Gunsmoke is now
in Australia. We originally purchased Gunsmoke from Tamara's father at
Mountain Magic Ranch in October 2006. We had planned to use him as a
stallion in our breeding program. However, when Daryl started looking
for a stallion to begin his breeding program in Australia, Gunsmoke appeared
to be a good fit. He has many traits of the old-time Rocky Mountain
horse including: solid bone structure, friendly disposition, and wonderful
4-beat gait.
Gunsmoke joins Daryl's two Rocky Mountain mares,
Lucy and Rosebud. Lucy is currently in foal Venture's Black Fury and
expected to deliver in September 2008.
We are happy that Gunsmoke is now with Daryl....it
has been a long journey! |

4th Generation
Born on Stone Bridge Farm! |
|
Rondezvous, our first mare, is now a great-grandma!
On May 15, 2008, Golden Buttercup (affectionately known as "Butter") gave
birth to her fist foal, a beautiful chocolate filly. Butter's sire is
Dan's horse, Wrangler. Wrangler is a son to Rondezvous. In a
stroke of good luck, Dan, Tamara, Camden & Allison, were all able to observe
the birth. The little filly has been named SB Early Morning Miracle,
and we call her "Emma". |

Mares at Home
in Australia! |
|
It's been many miles and days since Lucy and Rosebud
could call a place home. In February, they said goodbye to Stone
Bridge Farm and boarded a trailer bound for Los Angeles, California.
After 21 days of quarantine in California, they took at 24-hour flight to
Sydney, Australia. Now, after another 21 days of quarantine in Sydney,
they have taken a final trailer ride to their new home.
The climate is quite different from Minnesota...dry,
but the pastures should be greening soon. Reportedly, Lucy and Rosebud
appear to be
very relaxed and spend lots of time grazing and looking into the distance at
things that they are curious about. Rosebud, in particular, is fascinated
with the kangaroos and seems to watch them for hours.
Welcome home girls! |

First Rocky
Mountain Foal in the
Czech Republic |
|
On October 12, 2007, American Liberty gave birth to the
first Rocky Mountain foal born in the Czech Republic. The foal is a
filly, and looks to be black or blue roan...time will tell.
American Liberty and two other Rocky Mountain mares
were purchased from Stone Bridge Farm in 2006 and flew to the Czech Republic in April
2007. They are well-loved by Anja and her family, and have been
well-received by the local community. "Everybody is amazed how easy
and friendly they are."
